On Deleting Connections

Deleting a connection is never easy, but especially is you've been connected for a long time. So, how do I do it? Keep in mind that I'm guilty of deserting my city without so much as a goodbye. Obviously, I'm not the only one, so the first thing I do is look at my connection report and visit all the cities with a “0” report. I check the Mayor message, making sure when it was last updated. If it's been over a year, I look at the city badge so I can estimate the last time they were active. If that's over a year, then I look at their wall. If there is no recent wall activity, I know that they are okay to delete. My next to final act is to click “Explore.” If I get cash, I delete the city, because by my estimates, I've been paid enough money to delete that city. If I get nothing or a souvenir, then I keep them until I do another connection report.

Each time I do it, I check everything again. If I get money, I delete, otherwise I keep them. I do a connection report about every 3 weeks, but I'm not particularly religious about it. I make a point to not leave a message on their wall, because, face it: It's not very likely they will see the message anyway. If they return, they can reconnect if they want. I never turn down a connection request. Not now, anyway. If I ever get back up to 980 or so, then I might not connect with everyone, but that's a long time from now. If I get one pop a week, it's better than nothing, for now at least.

I'm not sure what I’ll write about next... So many ideas!
